John C. Patterson John Patterson, co-owner and administrator
of Sunleite Integrative Health Centre, brings a business background to
the clinic. John owned and operated Pine Ridge Nurseries, Pine Ridge
Garden Gallery and Pine Ridge Landscape Design for many years. John has always had a passion for healthy living and had a dream of creating a wellness centre. His interests in “hands-on healing” led him to learning and practising Therapeutic Touch. He continues this education along with other healing modalities. John, along with his wife, Brenda Leite, in the future will be opening a retreat. John will bring his gifts of knowledge; appreciation of nature to the retreat along with his gift for teaching meditation. The retreat, “Bimadisiwin”, an Ojibway name meaning “living life to the fullest while being true to yourself”, will offer many workshops such as hands-on healing, yoga, meditation and other sessions to assist with removing our social masks, getting back in touch with nature, finding happiness and peace in loving ourselves, and finding and loving the quiet within us all where we can truly connect to the nature and the oneness of all, through group and private sessions. Jane Boyle, RMT My path into the healing arts came as a kind of epiphany many years ago, when I received my first massage. I loved it, andknew that I wanted tohelp others feel that way. I had found my calling! It was that simple.
I graduated from Toronto’s Sutherland Chan Massage TherapySchool and Teaching Clinic in 1995, and havesince had a wealth of experience in my field. While helping people to feel relaxed and rebalanced, my areas of expertise as a Massage Therapist, Reiki practitioner and Reflexologist are in the treatment of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, arthritis, depression and anxiety, discomfort from neurological disorders like MS and Parkinson’s, injury rehabilitation, and beyond. Before moving to the Lake Scugog area in 2008, my practice was based at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. From 2000-2008 I worked there in the following capacities:
I also taught these courses privately, on the faculty of Toronto’s Sheena’s Place (a support centre for people with eating disorders), at Camp Wanakita in Haliburton, and at Path to Stillness Yoga in Lindsay. While my training as a Massage Therapist was based on a solid Western medical model, my study of the Martial Arts and yoga brought me to Eastern philosophies which have greatly influenced my work, providing a holisitic inclusiveness that informs and deepens my practice. In 2002 I achieved the Master/Shinpiden level of Reiki under the wise and inspiring tutelage of Master Tanya Kornobis and Master Lynn Jenkins. The experience was transformative. I taught Reiki year-round at Sheena’s Place in Toronto from 2002-2009, and continue to teach Reiki privately.
I joined the team at Sunleite Integrative Health Centre in May, 2010 and the experience has been like coming home! I’m grateful for the opportunity to practice alongside such open-hearted, holistic, and highly professional colleagues. To view my website, click on www.orbittherapeutics.com.
Jane Warner, Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine
I am a graduate of The Toronto School of Homoeopathic Medicine. Homeopathic training involves education in anatomy, physiology, physical assessment, medical diagnosis and conventional treatment, nutrition, homeopathic philosophy, prescription, therapeutics, and many hours of clinical supervision. Homeopathic education is a fascinating and lifelong endeavour. I continue to take post graduate study and am a member of the Canadian Society of Homeopaths. My medical training and experience as a Registered Nurse has provided ample evidence of the need for natural systems of healing. I am a graduate of the Ryerson School of Nursing and have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph where I studied the psychology of health and healing. As a homeopathic practitioner I believe in the power of the body to heal. True healing cannot be forced. It is a process in which a person attains a higher level of health and disease resolves naturally. Good health is also achieved through a balanced life. I am a disciplined hatha yoga/meditation student, voracious reader, and weekend gardener. I am grateful to join Sunleite Integrative Health Centre and welcome the opportunity to bring homeopathy to the community. Pamela Beach CPRT I have been a Holistic Practitioner for the past 12 years. I love to ignite my clients’ hidden potentials for better health of body and mind. Whether it is speaking with a client, an individual or a group, it is wonderful to inspire people to better health. My personal background is in Behavioral Therapy, specializing in chronic pain and stress It is my belief that our bodies have all the answers to great health, but they have forgotten how to communicate. The therapies in which I am trained, allow me to re-link the body, mind and spirit so that an individual’s state of health can return to homeostasis. Check out these websites for more information on the different types of therapies. “Begin the Journey back to Health” Jayne Manwaring CTT Jayne wears many hats at Sunleite Integrative Health Centre
and has an opportunity to share her talents with our clients. She has
been with Sunleite since its inception and oversees and administers the
detoxification program utilizing the infrared sauna, resonance foot spa
and Energy Enhancement System. Jayne’s caring approach makes the detox
experience relaxing and effective. As Brenda’s therapeutic assistant,
Jayne may be called upon to utilize her therapeutic touch gifts or may
need to oversee the use of the infrared treatment light on an injured
shoulder. She is versatile, skilled and caring - a great combination. Jayne has been on a journey in alternative health care for some time. She is an avid reader and always questions and investigates to find the best approach for her responsibilities at the clinic and beyond. She is a member of the Toronto Dowser’s Association and continues with education in the alternative health field. She began on her path working with a NAET practitioner, learning about physiological responses through the use of a non-conventional method. Jayne has achieved Level 3 in Therapeutic Touch and has also studied Reiki and Reconnective Healing. In the alternative health field, she also worked for over two years at Begg Chiropractic, where she assisted with muscle testing (a form of kinesiology) and shared her warm, caring nature with patients as an assistant. Upon joining Sunleite, Jayne was trained and certified as a thermography technician by Dr. William Dudley DC, DABCT. She is skilled at taking breast and full-body thermograms, which are then read by Dr. Dudley. This is a particularly exciting field for Jayne and for all of us at Sunleite as we witness, first hand, the benefits of infrared technology and early detection of cancerous tissue. Jayne feels she is truly blessed to have a job that she looks forward to going to each day, and enjoys being able to assist people in improving their health. Ask Jayne to demonstrate, through muscle testing, the power of our pendants for EMF protection and the dangers of aspartame and processed sugar.Penny Reid Penny has many gifts that she expresses at Sunleite Integrative Health Centre.
